Five Inspirations : The 13th Age

The Forgotten Realms Comics
Rags Morales and Jeff Grubb create a fantastic world with Liches in love, epic monsters and dragons and lords in the shadow of things.  Definitely ripe for inspiration for your games.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld.
Seriously.  You want a game where each character has a Unique Trait?  Then you should read these novels and find loads of inspiration here.

Adventure Time
As much as the show might seem like fun and laughs, you will be surprised at the deeper and darker mythology that binds the show together.  And you might be amazed at the direction the show takes when it hints at the hierarchy of power that exists in the setting.

Neil Gaiman's American Gods
Needs ideas on how to approach the Icons?  This book might inspire ideas which you never considered.

Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe - The Bible OST
Add a dash of epic sounding tunes to your games without your players getting distracted by all too familiar tracks.  This soundtrack may just be what you need so you don't have to pull out your copies of Games of Thrones and the like.
