Day 3: Houses of the Blooded
Houses of the Blooded was the game that opened my eyes to multiple new concepts and mechanics. The ideas of Sharing Narrative Control, of Failing Forward, of trusting players to handle the story well, of having Open Secrets, and of letting players have ANY power they want, because having it is not as important as giving them the challenging scenes of not wanting to use it. This game was a game-changer in so many ways. I feel sad when I read other people's reviews of this game and see how much they don't actually get the point.
Houses of the Blooded was the game I wish I can someday write for.
