"Calming Hands" - A Single Moment actual play

Only saw this actual play of A Single Moment + Reflections. It was nice seeing how they approached the game and enlightening to see how they were able to infuse more meaning to the story!

Thank you for playing it!

A Single Moment : Giu Lo Schermo with Lua

To quote their post in Youtube:This is the spin-off of Giù lo Schermo with the legendary Luca Cecchinelli, with whom, for months, we are killing two-person role-playing games. This time our choice fell on "A Single Moment". "A Single Moment" is a role-playing game for two players that, in one session, will put us in the shoes of two samurai crossing their swords in a deadly duel. In the end, only one of them will remain standing. The whole game is a set of blows in the present and flashbacks recalled from the past to understand who our protagonists are and what their motivations are. "A Single Moment" was written and published in English by Tobie Abad on April 25th.

Very grateful that they opted to try my game! Thank you!

The Duelists (Reflections)

Another awesome session using Reflections. As per the site:
This player-versus-player, improvised one-shot is run using the Reflections system, which is based off of the RPG "A Single Moment" (by Tobie Abad). Gotta love how people can find ways to make a game even more awesome. Thank you for playing!

Highlander: There can only be One

It is always nice to see people enjoying games. More so when in one way or another, the games they are playing were inspired in some way by things you were part of.

As per their site:
This is a single-elimination style tournament, starting with eight Immortals. Each session will discover the story of two such beings, through their history with one another... and the duel that forever ends their relationship. This player-versus-player RPG series will be run using the Reflections system, which is based off of the rpg "A Single Moment" (by Tobie Abad).

A total of 15 different games are waiting for you in this book, with incredibly creative authors such as Josh T. The Chosen Lord: A Single Moment Actual Play

Chanced upon another Actual Play of A Single Moment. This game was quite remarkable as it also educates the listener to a lot of interesting tidbits of information that can enrich their own games in the future.

 And very insightful chatter here.

Admittedly, the structure is designed to make the "underdog" have the bigger chance of getting a better "ending" at the end of each Chapter. It feels odd at first, but it actually works as you get to it with more games.

Thank you for playing!

Un Momento Unico!

Finally received my own copy of the Spanish edition of A Single Moment.
The book is just beautiful and I do hope it finds a larger audience there as well. Grab a copy of this here: https://www.thehillspress.es/

So far, I found one Actual Play of the game in Youtube! I do hope to find even more people playing this version of my humble game.

A Single Moment with Andy Kitkowski!

This is a Story about Respect.
Andy Kitkowski and I play A Single Moment.

One of the highlights of the month was being asked by Andy Kitkowski (Producer of Maid, Tenra Bansho Zero, and Ryuutama) if I was available to play a session of my game, A Single Moment, with him via Google Hangouts.  Thanks to the magic of the internet, we were able to play the game despite being in two different countries.

Catch the game session here, as Andy and I play through a dramatic tale of brotherhood, duty and respect.   We had to slightly change how the game is played to make it work better on an online session with two separated players (and this, admittedly, has given me new ideas to including in the upcoming A Second Moment, the A Single Moment companion book.

I will apologize this early for all the fanboying that you might catch in the video. But OMG I just played my game with Andy Kitkowski!

Weekly Affirmations plays A Single Moment!

I was so sad to have missed the twitch broadcast of this episode.  Strix contacted me to let me knw they were planning to play my game and I so wanted to catch it and give my support.  Sadly, the session would happen to be around 6a.m. in my timezone, which also meant it was to happen while I was running a one-shot game with Che, Dave, Nap, and Rocky (the game was called Stranger Things Too, inspired by the tv show).  So all I could post back then was this post.

Thankfully, they also post the video on youtube!  So here's a chance to see it in play.
I am deeply grateful that they chose to try my humble little game.
Thank you so much, Weekly Affirmations!

And CONGRATULATIONS! :-)

Party of One plays A Single Moment!

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by GM Jeff Stormer of Party of One (@PartyOfOnePod) to try playing A Single Moment on his podcast which focuses on two player games.  I will admit, I have never played live on a podcast before so this was a nerve-wracking moment for me!  (And yes, you can actually catch it in my voice.)

The session ran for a single hour, although there were some interruptions which were kindly edited out (as I had to order dinner for me and my partner).  I think I will always have some trouble with games where I can't actually see the player's face (I'm so used to adjusting and reacting to visual cues and giving them while playing) but I would like to think the game sounds pretty fun nonetheless.

Thank you so much, Party of 1 for having me over!

You can listen to the game here:

A Single Moment with She's A Super Geek

Today, I learned that She's a Super Geek, a wonderful actual play podcast highlighting women as GMs played my game, A Single Moment!  Senda and Emily played two samurai whose tale of Loyalty took a very unexpected turn.

The game session even has fan art and I'll see if the artist is willing to let me repost the work here.
Also extending thank yous to Chris and Phil of Misdirected Mark porcast for pointing the game out to them. A Single Moment was mention in this in the podcast episode MMP#208
http://media.blubrry.com/the_misdirected_mark_podcast/p/misdirectedmark.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/208-How-We-Run.mp3 It is at around the 50 minute mark as someone they refer to as the Herald suggests, "Every podcaster should play A Single Moment.".  And they're planning to play the RomCom version and I can't wait to hear them play it.   I definitely am excited at the response the game has been having.  Thank you so much!

Whoever you are, dear Herald, I thank you and owe you a beer. I'm sorry I didn't quite catch your name but I do hope to hear from you.

EDIT: Just been told that the Herald was Pallcomm of VisionaryComms
Thank you again for suggesting to all podcasters to try my humble game.
