The reception room looks different than the previous one.  The room appears to be under renovation.  Wires jut out from areas.  The windows are covered with newspaper.  The floor itself does not have tiles, and is mostly cement. Some parts have lines drawn to suggest where tiling should stop.  The receptionist however is the same woman as before.  She seems to be quietly checking the computer as the others start to come to and realize they are in the room.   She smiles upon seeing they are all awake and she greets Agent Singer for being back with them. She commends him for his previous missions and shares that Agent Duke is happy with his performance.  There is mention that he has been in the Blue City more often than the rest of them in the room.

The Company is very happy with how the threat of the Hostile Personality Jigsaw has finally been rehabilitated.  The group begins with more Commendation than expected.  The receptionist's clothing seems to be predominantly cut from circular patterns.  She also has very curly brunette hair.  She shares how reception is now held in the Blue City as the company seen it fit to start here already to save on time.  Mission Briefings are now given during the Reception process in order to better facilitate meeting the goals.  Agent Fisher recommends Agent Singer to be the Team Leader, but Singer declines.  Fisher wonders if they should do a coin flip, but a brief moment of static seems to run through the lights.

Mission:
1) Locate Personalities: Watts and Perls, located somewhere on the First Train.
2) Receive/Retrieve the Aleph.  It is not to fall to any other hands.
3) Safely arrive at Station G.
4) Hand over Aleph to Senior Agent Baxter.  Distinction: She was head of operations when Agent Miner went AWOL. Not found guilty of misconduct, clearance level Blue, and is female.  African-American descent and has a pearl earring on her left ear.

Fisher tries asking for equipment but Reception reminds him that they will have to do so on their own.  The room is only clearance level Green.  She admits she cannot do anything beyond giving the mission parameters.  The rogue agents Miner, Kira and Draper however have raised the alert level of the mission.  She suggests they begin at the Train Station.  Fisher assures the team he will handle getting them there.  Singer asks Reception for her name, but she just tells him she is Reception.

There are things posted in the area around the door, but she pays them no heed.  She offers to them the option to step out now and proceed with the mission. "See you in three hours," they tell Reception. "We will see you in two hours and forty-three minutes."

Fisher calls Control as they step out, immediately asking for information and equipment.  Control confirms his role as Team Leader and confirms Reciprocity is in effect.  He asks what is the Aleph.  Control confirms he has Deep Blue Clearance but warns him that other members of the team do not have that clearance.  Aleph is an important document that must be reclaimed from certain personalities.  It has been known to attract the presence of... something redacted.  More so when it is present within ten to fifteen minutes. It is not to be harmed nor communicated with in any manner.   He requests for three handguns and a sedan.  The three handguns are requisitioned and are now present at the mailbox south of his location. The request for a vehicle is granted, and a pair of keys are in the driver's pocket.  The vehicle should be in the vicinity.  Fisher does not recall having the keys earlier.  The others look around, scanning the streetlights, nearby buildings, and the many parked cars. There are billboards lit up on the rooftops.  The readers can read the flashing two words.  A train is above, with the railway above it.  Not too far away, a woman stands on the street, waiting for a cab.  Other than her fantastic legs, she has a tattoo in her inner thigh, but its too far to see right now. She hails down each car that passes, but none have stopped for her.  A truck is approaching.  The woman has a small hat at the back of her head, with has a small veil that covers her face.  Her hair is barely visible.  Caucasian.

Dexter admits he thinks he knows her.Page chooses to stand guard while Singer follows him.    As Fisher ends the call, he looks up to see the others headed for the woman.  He scans the area for a mailbox, wanting to get the others the guns.   Dexter grabs the woman by the arm gently and looks at her fuzzy out of focus face.  He shakes his head, apologizing and admitting he mistook her as someone else.  The truck rumbles past the others, stops and on its back, a black sedan.  Fisher sees the mailbox further down.  Page focuses on the driver and sees it is a five-foot seven figure in overalls.  He has a frog's head.  Dexter whispers that the place where they are is not what it seems.  He can read the words "Go Back" appearing on the walls. On the billboard.  He thinks its a warning.  The frog asks for the papers, and Fisher pulls out the necessary documents.

The faceless woman walks up to them, asking if she can get a ride.  Fisher says there's no room.  She mentions she's late for the Opera and Kira is playing tonight.  Fisher pulls the others close for a huddle while the Frog brings the sedan down from the trailer.  Fisher asks the others if they know Kira, and they admit they do.  Page is concerned about pulling their weapons while with a passenger.  Dexter reminds them the rogue agents are on high alert.  Going there might stir up things. Fisher agrees they can learn more about Kira later. "Let's not arouse suspicion with the company."  They tell the woman they're full up, and she walks away.   Frog asks if they're Mystery Agents, but they get in the car without replying.  They drive off.

A sharp high pitched tone hits Singer's head, and his nose begins to bleed.  Fisher tells the other to grab the weapons and go back to the car.  When they don't respond, probably due to panic, Fisher rushes to grab them himself.  Singer stands up and watches Fisher curry to the mailbox.   Page focuses on watching the rear, and sees a parked van further down the road.  Black in color. Slight hints of movement. Fisher finds a mobile phone instead inside the mailbox on his first attempt to dig in.  Page notices a red dot somewhere inside the windshield.  He tells the others quickly there's a possible contact, "Van!"  A shattering sound erupts as Fisher hears the muffled ping hit the mailbox.  He feels the guns in his hand and grabs it.  Dexter tries to find the source of the warning shot as he asks for the gun.  Singer stays low, ducking for cover.  Fisher starts running for the car.  Shots are exchanged.  A shot hits the driver's door as Fisher ducks into the driver's seat.  Dexter and Page opens fire at the van to force the attackers down.  As the sedan's engine roars into action, a Call reaches Agent Page. The Caller turns claims to be Senior Agent Miner, and he tells Page he needs his help. The caller admits he cannot verify his identity.  Dexter asks who Page is talking to.  Page ignores him, however, and using his Judge skill, asks if the Caller is who he claims to be.  "Absofuckinglutely."  Page confirms it to be true.  Skidding into the first corner, they have a better view of the van.  Dexter aims for the driver and fires.  The Caller asks where Page and the others will be so he can intercept the Aleph.   Blood splatters against the windshield, then out as the glass shatters.

Fisher explains to Page the stuff he's found in the mailbox, and he tosses Dexter the phone.  Dexter looks at the phone and types in a reply: Trains.  Page doesn't explain further who called him.  They drive off, leaving the van now, and make their way to the Train station. Singer asks someone to handle navigation as he feels his heart starting to pound against his chest.  While driving, Dexter inspects the phone and its a basic smart phone. Nothing in the directory and the like.  Fisher asks for it back. Dexter tells them he saw the board earlier saying, "Got Your Back..." but then it changed into, "Go back!"  Now the other signs are telling the same thing.  Singer admits he seems to recall dying.  He doesn't think he's supposed to be here. Fisher asks Singer if he knows Kira.  "Don't Call and Drive, even in the Blue City."  Fisher admits Kira might be their only lead with the rogue agents, and asks Singer to ask her how they can get out of this place permanently.  Dexter shares his faint recollections of the same lady, with a tattoo, who they had shot in the face.  That woman was disguised as Kira as well.  Fisher clarifies the Kira they know might have the same tattoo, but it might just be a well designed Cover.    Singer tries Calling Kira.  She responds, a bit surprised to hear from him.  Singer shares that Fisher is calling in a favor and that they're headed for the train station.  He asks her to meet them there.  She tests Singer first, asking what she was wearing when they met, and he confirms it was Yellow, not Red.  He also confirms they were at the Kitchen in the Zoo and when she scolds him for being back after they had ejected him, he admits he just woke up again in Reception.  Kira, however, tells them no one has been in Reception.  She's been monitoring the place all day.  She warns them there are too many Hostile Personalities in the Train Station.  They map out a place outside the Train Station and they will meet in ten minutes.

Dexter sees more billboards along the route.  The text once again changes into, "Go back" despite the posters being ads for clothing and the like.  The place feels darker.  More oppressive.  Dexter wonders if they should Eject.  "I have a very bad feeling about this."  Even the streets seem more populated than before.   Fisher has Singer call Kira again, admitting he suspects they may be in Deep Blue. Page remains alert, keeping watch of anything suspicious outside the car.

The call to Kira has her admit she cannot track them right now, since she is mobile.  Singer admits its kind of weird that there are a lot more people out.  Kira however thinks it might just be the Blue City - there are times there seem to be more around on certain nights - but at least they haven't seen anything weird yet.  Like spiders.  "If you do meet Spiders, stick to headshots.  Don't get too close. They are not human."  Page can hear a muffled beating sound.  He risks sticking his head out a window to check and hears the sound stronger.  Looking up, he sees the open sky and a black shape following the car.  A silent helicopter.  Page warns the others that they may be being followed.

Enjoy. Embrace. Bliss.    The group sees the massive signboard ahead with these three words.  To their surprise, they can ALL read it.   Suddenly, a powerful feeling hits and deep down, they feel the urge to stop the car, walk up to the billboard and... something.  A feeling they all want. A feeling they miss.  But one they have no idea where it is coming from.

Knowing Kira is about a minute away from their destination, Singer turns the sedan to find the nearest building to the station.  Page reminds them to find a parking area that has a ceiling or roof.  One is a covered parking area, and the second option is a low bridge.  Singer turns the car to the covered parking area instead.  The man at the entrance gives them a ticket, after writing on it.  The ticket comes out and hands it to them.  Singer passes the note immediately to Dexter, who confirms the contents are just the parking notes.  They call Kira, confirming they're at the Parking Lot of the Trainstation and warns her they are being followed.  They are in a black sedan.  Kira confirms she is close and she can see the bird in the sky.  She's waiting for a crowd.  "I'll find you."  Fisher changes the plan and tells Kira to meet at the Train Station again.  But Kira thinks the helicopter is from the Company, and they might just be monitoring the group. Dexter offers to shift into a Disguise to meet Kira. Page glances around, and thankfully everything is still clear.  But Kira no longer responds.  A group is now crossing the street.  Girl scouts.

Page watches the Scouts walk past the parking lot.  Dexter looks for any black women in the area, and he sees one at the entrance at the Train Station with two people, remembering Kira's old disguise.  Page reminds them to hurry. Singer admits this feels unusual for Kira as she usually just appears out of nowhere. As the Scouts walk past the Train Station, one separates and approaches the parking lot.  Page watches the girl as she offers a box to the parking attendant, then walks away from him after he buys a box.  Fisher calls out to her, asking if she needs a smoke.  She turns towards them and approaches.  Singer stands outside.  Dexter notes the black woman has an earring only on the left ear.  He tells them Baxter is waiting by the Station.   The Girl Scout offers them cookies and when they accept the box, they note the cookies in the box seem odd.  Dexter looks in and reads the pattern made by the chips: Kira.

A metallic sound catches their attention.  They look at the Train Station and a massive sculpture is being dragged out. It is made of various metal pieces, of hands reaching for the sky.  The shadows cast by the hands fall upon the group, criss crossing lines, like a net.  Singer asks if the Girl Scout is Kira, and she smiles, sitting along them in the back seat.  Dropping her Cover, she admits this isn't Deep Blue and Dexter reminds them Baxter is waiting for them.  She admits having not met Page yet, who tells her he's knew.  He gives his name, and she Calls him to confirm his identity.  He hears her voice, confirming it. She tells Singer she owes him for that save.  She asks Fisher why he keeps coming back here.  They ask her of the Aleph and she admits Miner wants to get a hold of it.  They think it has something to do with what they call Bliss. They aren't sure if it would be safe to give it to the Company right now. Miner's suspicions are it is a person. Fisher admits they need to give the Aleph to the Company or they might suspect they have gone rogue. She asks about Draper, and he admits he's no longer with them.  Singer asks about Watts and Pearls, and Kira admits she has never heard of them either.  She thinks they're Hostile Personalities. Dexter shares his sightings of "Go Back" and Kira asks if he's also noticed the mentions of Bliss. No one remembers what it is, but they all remember desiring it... wanting it...  Sadly, none of them remember anything about it.  Fisher suggests they push through with the Mission and determine what to do with the Aleph when they get it.  With an hour and a half left, they realize they best meet Watts and Pearls before time runs out. Learn what they can and report back once possible. She then asks Page, who is new to the group, whose side he is on.  Kira shares that they're all being recycled.  When the Company first started, the Lacuna devices were being used to rehabilitate Hostile Personalities.  Whenever they were captured, they would be ejected out using the Lacuna devices.  The same way any of them would Eject after a Mission. "Miner suspects we have all most likely once were Hostile Personalities." And this brings the question who they are and why does the Blue City exist.  Miner noticed since the shift in the hierarchy in the Company, with many of the ones who "died" were from the other side of the Operations. They think Snyder is part of the coup. Page asks what their goal would be. Kira admits they think they're trying to make the Blue City safe.  Whatever the Company used to be, Snyder might have taken over. Kira thinks the Spidermen might be the missing element. Dexter admits he found one of the Spidermen's guns before and he realized humans would have a hard time using them. They think the Spiders use human bodies like Cover, to move about them unnoticed. Headshots incapacitate them for a few seconds, forcing them to tear out and attack. They have always resorted to running upon seeing them. The Safehouses are safe from Spiders but not from Agents of the Company. The Garden has been infiltrated many times, but they still use it to fool the Company into thinking they don't know.   A call arrives, for Agent Fisher.  Baxter Calls to ask where he is.  As the group sees him talking, Kira touches his face and reaches her hand out to the others.  Taking it, they realize they can hear the call as well now. Fisher admits they're outside and Baxter scolds him that they are late.  The train is leaving in ten minutes. Ending the call, Fisher is surprised to see them all already ready to go for the train.  Page asks who the other HPs in the station are working for. Kira admits they're only known as HPs based on the fact they're recurring faces and have constant personalities. Page muses they'd probably identify the Aleph once they notice the presence of a lot of HPs. Kira shares one last thing: they can't contact Mason. Too much Static. She tells them she will wait in the car.  Fisher brings the keys with him.

They hurry and cross the street. Page does not see the copter anymore.  They approach and see Baxter, dressed now as a security guard.  Dexter looks around for anyone who might be Pearl and Watts.  Baxter tells them they should hurry or they'll lose their train.  They identify the train they should head to. The four hurry down the hallway, moving to the platform where they want to get to.  Fisher notes they have barely seven minutes left.  He reassures the group he can use Documents for the tickets.  Page scans the area for suspicious individuals and notes while most of the people are blurry, there are people who are dressed finely in semi-formal garb, all wearing animal masks.  Singer checks the masks and notes what they are: A White Tiger. A Wolf.  And another type of cat, but not sure what kind.  Singer reminds them to be wary of the cat. Page notes none of them have their hands exposed, they may have their hands on weapons hidden in pockets/inside their jackets.  The three are in different locations though.  Dexter suspects they might be protecting the wolf, given the two others are cats.  Maybe he or she is the target in the Mission.  Page suggests they wait for the last moment to see who will ride where.

The call comes, for the last five minutes to board the plane.  The three now make their way to the same platform they are at.  Steam rises from the wheels of the train.  Blurry faced people begin boarding the train.  Even the crew have faceless featureless faces.  Singer allows the three masked figures to go in first. Page looks for anyone with a clear face but finds none.   Singer notes the three stop instead of going in, as if waiting.  Dexter decides to walk past the three, then finds an available seat in the train.  The others note the masked figures watch Dexter as he goes in.  "Last four minutes.."   The two cats nod.  The Wolf starts going in.  Inside the train, Dexter realizes it isn't the usual open seating train.  There are booths.  He moves ahead to find any empty booth in this car, or the next one.  He finds the first available one and steps inside.   Page is unnerved by the faceless conductors.  The group walks past the two cats in the suits and board the train.  They see the booths. Singer asks the attendant for a booth, and the attendant tells him to take any one he prefers, "This is Train Number One. Invitation only." Fisher follows the Wolf and realizes they are heading to the next car.  He fingers his gun, sliding a finger into place.  Dexter slides out of the booth to follow Fisher.  Singer moves to the door, but waits for the last call to close the door before the Cats board.  The two cats look up surprised as the door doesn't open in front of them. Singer fakes miming he's trying to unlock the door he "accidentally" locked. The Cats look at him angrily as the train begins to move, leaving them behind.  One of the two cocks his head, seemingly in a Call.  The train leaves them behind.  Singer tries to follow the others.

In the next car, Fisher and Dexter follow the Wolf.  Dexter moves faster, walking past Fisher, then the Wolf, and continues walking further ahead.  Page slides into the room as well, peering at the nearby booths for anything out of place, like people in suits.  Or a person with a face.  Finding an empty booth ahead, Dexter slides the door open and sits inside.  A door opens, revealing two men in semi-long shirts and bowties. Their faces are fuzzy.  Between them, a young girl in a blue dress is being escorted.  A sharp stabbing pain suddenly hits the brain of the Mystery Agents who can see the girl.  Some of them begin to feel faint from the pain.  Page seeing the effects on the others, he looks at the faceless guys and sees no reaction coming from them.  Singer stumbles into the closest booth, and the two personalities in the booth ask if he needs help.  He claims it is just a nosebleed.  The older personality asks him to "Have some Bliss," insisting it will make the pain go away.  They are quite insistent. Page slips back into the earlier car, worried about Singer.

Fisher walks up to the Wolf man, addressing him directly and asking if he's been to the Zoo lately.  Dexter, in the other booth, keeps the door open enough to overhear the conversation. The Wolf tells him to stand aside.  Dexter notes the Wolf has drawn a hand into his suit, and the head of an axe can be seen peering from inside his jacket.  Dexter fires a shot at the arm holding the axe, hoping to disarm the man.  The elbow explodes into red, cloth and wood.  Fisher plants a foot down on the axe head, and he pulls out his Document as it it were a badge, and demands the Wolf explain who he is.  To his surprise, the Wolf growls, "Mystery Agent.." Dexter hurries out of the booth, and grabs the Wolf up from the ground, and the two drag Wolf into the empty booth.  As the door closes, all the other booth doors open, as the other passengers wonder what just happened.

Singer sees the two faceless guys continue to escort the girl in blue down the car.  Page sees this too, and he slides into the car and he walks towards the nearest booth. Singer notices the young girl's eyes are focused on him, and she seems to be speaking without words.  Singer feels another stabbing pain hit is head.  He slams against the wall and something clicks in his brain.  He suddenly is a Writer.  As the lights flicker when the train moves past some things. Singer begins to notice the flickering is actually in morse code! H - E - L - P - M - E - H - E - L - P - M - E...  He struggles up to his feet, but when tries to draw his pistol to help.... the car is empty.  He doesn't realize five minutes had passed!

Five minutes ago, Page sees Singer suddenly shove himself against the far wall, then fall unconscious.   He slides open a booth he thought was empty, but realizes there is someone inside.  He continues instead down the path, ignoring the booth after closing the door.  As he opens the door he sees all the people in this car, asking about what just happened. He continues walking forward, and he stares at the glass reflection to look behind him.  He sees the two men and the child go to the booth he approached earlier and go inside.  Page stops, he realizes it might be best to find the others.  He notices one booth where no one has a head out, and approaches it. He sees Dexter and Fisher there.  Dexter keeps the Wolf held down. Fisher has the axe in his hand.  Fisher asks the Wolf to admit who he is. The Wolf snarls they and their company shouldn't even be here. Fisher tells Dexter to choke the Wolf. Page slides in to see the Wolf gasping for breath. Page tells them Singer is in trouble. The Wolf slumps to the ground after his neck is snapped.  Dexter checks the body for anything and he finds a Lacuna device that has been jury-rigged in some way.  He pockets it without the other noticing. Page quickly reports what he saw, and admits he saw a girl that had a face. Fisher wonders if she's the target. Dexter sets the dead Wolf against the window, as if he was asleep. Dexter offers to wear a disguise. Page points out to them where the others would be. Page hates the fact he can't recall what the person inside the booth looks like.  He thinks it was blurry. Page offers to check the rest of the train, reminding them they haven't checked the front of the train.  Fisher gives Page approval to do it. Page worries if Fisher won't have someone to cover him. Page heads forward to check the train.  Dexter and Fisher head for the rear.

Singer quietly walks down the train, looking into booths for the Girl. As he approaches the third booth, he notices his reflection on the glass and there's blood all over his face.  He tries to wipe himself clean.  The adjoining door slides open as Fisher and Dexter arrive.  Seeing the booth with the Blue Girl, Singer draws his machine gun, hoping to fire at a swinging motion to hit everyone who is taller than the girl.  The bullets fly, tearing through the metal and shattering the glass.  The two are downed, with bloody splatters all around the walls.  The third, a red stain against the window.  The Girl stares at Singer, still pristine and Blue.  Singer rushes inside to grab her. He pulls out his Lacuna device.  Fisher confirms Singer got the girl and asks the Girl for her name.  She looks at them but her mouth opens and words do not come out.  Both Fisher and Dexter feel their heads explode from within.  From the blood that sprays out of Fisher's nose, the blood almost twists midair for a split second to become: Help Me.  Fisher admits she still isn't sure if the Girl is the Target. Singer admits he wants to bring her to Kira and he activates the Lacuna device.  A black pit appears, and the Girl suddenly shrieks so loud the glass shatters in all the nearby booths.  Her words are, "Don't! When Three Becomes Two... and Two Becomes One..."  And then, Singer is gone.  So is the Girl.

Page continues forward, moving to the next car, when a heat wave feeling reaches him.  He instinctively covers his face as glass shatters all around him. In front of him, the long corridor is suddenly filled with more faceless crying and fearful. A man with a Rabbit's face emerges from the other end of the corridor.  Page sees the Rabbit but it does not seem to notice Page is a Mystery Agent. Staying low, Page gets the bearing of his surroundings while watching the Rabbit.  The Rabbit is suddenly in front of Page, covering the distance quite.... impossibly, and it asks if Page is alright. He offers to check Page's wounds on his face. Page feigns shaking in panic as he realizes the Rabbit does not know he's not one of the Personalities. The Rabbit mutters, "Mystery Agents," in reference to the explosion, "This is not good," then to Page, "Stay down, Citizen. We will keep you safe."  And suddenly, the Rabbit is gone.  The door to the next car is already closing.

Fisher Calls Singer, asking where he is now, but there is no response. The sound of the door sliding open alert's Dexter to look if the man has a weapon. He sees the Rabbit headed guy in a suit the same time he hears Page Calling him about a Rabbit-headed Contact! The Rabbit's eyes widen upon seeing Fisher and Dexter.  Dexter fires, not hesitating, and the perfect shot actually misses! Dexter notes however he did not hit anything at the opposite side of the room.  Fisher calls Page to tell him Dexter shot the Rabbit. Page can see the Rabbit against a far wall, checking a wound.  "You grazed him," Page laments.  Fisher recommends Page move closer but Dexter admits it might not be best to engage. Dexter asks Fisher to cover him. Dexter steps out, firing shots that the Rabbit begins to dodge.  Fisher tells Page information on the Rabbit's position, to guide them to hit the target. Page realizes if they keep the Rabbit busy, he can snipe the bastard. Fisher ties to badger the Rabbit to talk, asking who he is and what he wants.  The Rabbit tells them they're not supposed to be here, as this is their city.  He says the Mystery Agents have been infiltrating the city far too...  Page sees the perfect moment and takes the shot. The Rabbit falls to the ground, the mask falling off to reveal a human face.  Dexter and Fisher close in to check the "Rabbit"'s body. Page stays in the distance to keep cover.  The man looks familiar.  Dexter sort of recalls the man is Agent Tiller. Of a man slipping from the helicopter, then the man grabbing his hand, and the two yelling at each other not to let go.  Dexter can't believe its Tiller. He drops to his knees and searches for any identification. He finds Tiller's Lacuna device and slides it into his hand.  Fisher asks if he recognized the man, but Dexter can only stare blankly. Fisher notices what Dexter did, and asks what he just tried to hide. Dexter admits it is beyond Fisher's clearance. Fisher asks who gave the Mission, and Dexter admits Miner gave it.  Fisher admits if it was from Miner, then he will trust him.

Nothing else has happened. Page watches in fascination as the blanks, these faceless people, seem to have totally forgotten what just happened.  They're now all just seated, despite the broken glass, talking to each other, laughing, or keeping themselves busy.   Then in an eyeblink, the glass is fixed. The booths show no damage. Page walks up to the others and tells them they have to finish whatever they came to do and get out. Fisher admits they have no leads. He even wonders if this was a trap. Page asks if the Girl was Aleph. Fisher thinks she may have been, but its hard to know for certain. He offers what happened in a previous mission and admits they cannot tell for certain.  They are but all pawns working to help solve a larger puzzle.

Elsewhere.  Agent Singer opens his eyes and finds the Girl pulling away from him.  There is soft jazzy music in the background.  He hears the roaring sound of people applauding.  He looks up to see a studio audience, with hundreds of people watching.  All of them are beautifully dressed, wearing paper mache masks of animal heads. Unlike the masks he had seen in the Zoo, which resembled actual animal heads, here they were clearly craftwork, with black string to hold them up against their faces. Singer cannot feel the weight of the Lacuna device on his shirt. He can feel the weight of his gun however on his side.

A man in a white suit, which looks red and black due to the lights, addresses the audience.  Singer notices everyone is completely in white clothing and masks.  Even the walls and chairs are white.  The lights shift the colors they seem to be in.  As the Girl in Blue runs, she trips and hits the floor. She sobs. The host walks past her and stops in front of Singer.  He asks, "Well, we have Agent Singer with us today. Would you like to share with us how you feel about today's episode?"    When Singer asks who he is and where he has been taken, the host calmly admits they are in White.  And that they are happy to have him here. "It is not often anyone reaches all the way to White."

A massive screen on the background shows Singer's face in close up as he admits, "I don't recall there being a White."  The audience roars in laughter. Singer asks again what is going on, and the audience all yells in unison, "YOU'VE MADE IT TO WHITE!"   Singer can see the Girl in Blue however worriedly muttering about having to go back.  The host tells Singer he's gotten past all the sadness, depression and heavy feelings of Blue.  "And you are now in White."   The host now asks for words from the audience.  He draws out numbers... "386.." and a woman in white with a duck-beak stands up.  She holds a pose that reminds Singer of a ballerina. A hanging microphone descends and she asks, "What was it like being in Blue?" Singer mumbles he doesn't remember. His memory is fuzzy.  People laugh again.

The host tells Singer there is no need to pretend not to remember as this is White after all.  Singer yells back he doesn't even know what that means. Laughter.  The host draws another number and he gets "247." The man in a suit and a walrus mask and a bowler's hat asks, "I know this is probably a strange question to ask, but given all the times you Mystery Agents would be running from the Spiders, and your desire to understand what the Spiders mean, did you ever consider to just drop a spider in some ink and see what marks they would make when they try to crawl out of it?"  Singer claims he hasn't even seen a Spider.  This time however, no one laughs or claps.  No one responds to his reply.  The host turns to Singer and admits there is only time for one last question.  "Are you ready to finally stay in White?"

"What do you mean by that? What is here in White?" Singer asks.

"Have you been playing for so long, you've forgotten what it means?" the host seems shocked.  Singer tries to feel around for the Lacuna device, but he can't find it at all.  The Girl in Blue is staring at the Agent, shaking her head as she weeps.  Singer can somehow see her hair moving in slow motion, and the words read, "Please don't let me send you back... Please don't ask me..."

Singer asks, "Where?"

The host, thinking it was for him, asks, "It is a Yes or No question..."

Singer tries a Call.  "Aleph."  Suddenly everything stops frozen, as if a pause button was pressed.  The Girl stares at Singer, her eyes widening more, and Singer can hear her voice now in his head. He asks where Kira is and she admits she needs to wait here.  That they've all been trying too hard.  And that this is not making sense.  And that they're out of time. She is out of time.  It is her birthday, she claims.  That happens today.

Singer tells her that she won't have to send him back.  She says thank you.

Time resumes.  The audience is cheering.  A clock begins to tick.  The lights transform the whole room to blue.  The audience applauds even louder.  The host turns to Singer and tells him that he is about to witness a birthday.  The Girl looks up, and as she screams, a paper mask is appearing over her face.

But then a light touch pushes against Singer's nape.  He hears a voice whisper, "3... 2... 1..." and he is once more falling.  The laughter and the white room fades.  He is gone.

Back at Reception.

Fisher, Page and Dexter see the Receptionist, a different woman, who smiles at them and admits that they might look perturbed, it is quite common as memory loss is common in the Blue City.  She offers them refreshments and tells them Control was very impressed with how Page carried himself in the Mission.  Senior Agent Chambers was giving him a recommendation for Team Leader  position in the future. Page asks what he did exactly.  Page is told he successfully escorted his team throughout the mission, and successfully noticed when Control itself was sending an Agent to shadow them. He even terminated a Hostile Personality.  Page just says, "If the record states it, then I just have to agree. I don't exactly remember what had happened."  Page is told they foresee working with him again in the future.  Dexter is told that Control noticed he seemed to be hesitant in using his Techniques, and if he would prefer to have a different Team Leader.  Dexter admits he would like a chance to talk to his Mentor, Senior Agent Snyder.  Receptionist promises to inform the Senior Agent when she gets the chance, given the Senior Agent tends to be active.  Dexter is noted to have disabled a number of Hostile Personalities.  He is recommended to work more frequently with Agent Page, given their capacity for Force.  Agent Fisher is commended for his direction in handling operations but is bothered that they had lost an Agent during the Mission. Fisher claims he does not recall.  Reception explains an Agent Singer was killed in action and his body was never recovered. Fisher claims to regret the action despite not remembering anything.

The three are told they will have an extended Rest and Recreation until their next Mission.  They are asked to give a single word response to the next question to end the debriefing.  The question for Agent Page is, if they trust the pearl earring. Page responds, "What?"   The question for Agent Dexter is, how many eyes did he see. Dexter responds, "Just mine."  And finally, Agent Fisher is asked if he is working for Senior Agent Miner.  Fisher says no.  They are thanked for their service.

They stand up.  They have that urge to ask each other what happened, how they escaped, but they decide not to risk it.  They recall as they walk out of the room a door opening. A man standing at the doorway, with a hand extended towards them.  The man says, "Mason.  My name is Mason.  You are all-" and then he closes his eyes and Calls each one of them to confirm who they are. He tells them he's pulling them out and reassures them Singer is safe, and that Singer will not be returning at the end of this Mission.  And that when he returns, he sadly might not recognize them.  Mason turned to Dexter, and asked if he collected the devices.  Dexter asked then for Snyder, but Mason countered that he needs to decide if he's working with them or with Snyder's group. Dexter insists he needs to know where Snyder is. Mason admits Snyder is where he always is, monitoring things in White.  He asks Dexter again for the devices.  Dexter hands one of them to Mason.  Mason admits he will need the jury-rigged devices to get Singer out.  As he opens his jacket, they see five other jury-rigged devices pinned in his coat.  Mason matches the one Dexter gave to one of them and confirms it should work.   He presses the button, and instead of a black hole, a white one appears.  Mason falls through and he is gone.

"You lied, Agent Fisher."

Fisher turns around to see the Receptionist in front of him.  The two others, Dexter and Page, were walking further down the hallway.    Fisher sees her gaze staring into his eyes, and he calmly replies, "About what?"

The Receptionist stares.  Then shakes her head.

"My mistake."  And she walks away.

The  agents are welcomed by reception.  Three of them are senior agents and the two others are guests who have merits in their history.  Of course, memory loss is common in the Blue City.  Agent Fisher is given the task as Team Leader for the mission.  An additional technique is unlocked for them as approved by Control.  Their rapid promotions are noted for future reference.  All are then requested to sit back, close their eyes, and relax.

[Insertion process begins: DARA protocols active]

The group awakens all together in a dark room.   Most of the light comes from outside the window, casting a bluish hue on them all.  Agent Fisher and Agent Draper are both surprised, not recalling insertion ever being this smooth.  Or ever allowing them all together.  Agent Draper asks Agent Page to contact Control.   Agent Fisher recommends someone try Calling Control for the nearest Hard Line.  He asks the Team Leader if they should split and search for one.  There are many balls and clumps of spiderwebs however all around.  Agent Page notes quickly the doors in the area.  In the square room they are in, there is a door on each wall.  The windows allowing light in are from horizontal slits above the northern side door.  Or at least they think its the northern side.  They can hear thunder occasionally rumbling in the distance.  Fisher once again petitions that someone Call Control for a  Hard Line, but Draper counters asking why not to just Call Control for the Mission Parameters.  Fisher reminds him Control doesn't prefer to talk via Caller.  The two new guys are starting to grasp the Blue City is actually some other location.  With the four doors around them, one on each compass point, they listen against the southern door and hear only the distant sounds of traffic or an occasional train.  On the northern door, they hear the same.  There seems to be occasional thunder sounds.  Agent Page attempts to reach out to contact Control and finds himself accessing the ability instinctively.  He hopes to request for the location of a secure hard line and a request for weapons.  The DARA protocols are in effect and three test questions are posed to Agent Page.  He clears the protocols and is told the door to the west leads to the nearest hard line.  Agent Fisher digs out a number of blank pages in his pockets.  He wonders if these are the Documents he supposedly will use in the Blue City.  Page successfully requisitions four handguns and he is informed they are in the eastern room under the bed.  He ends the Call and shares the info with the others.  Agent Fisher checks the east door and smells something moldy.  The only source of light seems to be  small window.  He reminds everyone to check what else they might have.  Dexter nudges the door open and discovers the room is slightly illuminated by moonlight streaming in through a window.  All can see the room better now.  It is a bed room with an open window beside it.  The bed reminds them all of a medical bed.  Page keeps watch of the northern door.  Draper asks Page to check if he has a weapon on his person since his files show he should be armed.   Without waiting for a response, Dexter and the two others move in to check the bed.  Fisher slides under the bed to look for the weapons.  Draper sees markings on the walls and Reads them:  Run.  The word is repeated over and over.

Run.

Fisher reemerges with a box with four handguns.  He hands them out.  Dexter takes two of the hand guns and returns to the original room.  Page is at the western door, keeping poised near it just in case. As the group proceeds, Fisher hesitates, choosing to check what is out the window first.  Page covers the northern door, allowing the others to spread out.  Dexter has second thoughts and walks back to join Fisher.   Outside the window, Fisher can see a red car coming up the driveway.  He wonders if its the same red car he witnessed before driven by Kira.  Wanting to hurry, Draper reminds all to at faster.  Page wants to kick it open.  Heavy knocks begin to hammer on the northern door.  The door creaks and smashes open as Dexter smashes it open.  The voices at the north hear the commotion,  Their foreign accents are muffled but clearly suggest they are aware of the group's presence.  Page opens fire as the northern door swings open, and hits the humanoid squarely in the chest.  The thing tumbled backwards into the doorway.    The others rush into the western room and they find the landline on the single table at the center of the room.  Old metal filing cabinets are against the side walls.  Draper tells the others to shove the cabinets against the door once everyone is in.  Fisher checks the windows and finds them boarded up.   At the edge of the door, someone is about to step through once more.  Page fires again and the figure tumbles to the ground as its shoulder explodes from the shot.  It is dressed in what looks like cold-war soviet uniform garb, but where a head should be, a dark spider like head adorns it, with its beady multiple eyes. The thing groans in pain in a strange foreign language.  Dexter joins Page to help him shoot at the others.   They are realizing the rooms look identical to each other.  Draper rushes for the hard line to call Control.   Another movement by the door.  Page fires again!  The figure had its arm extended with a pistol ready, but Page's shot is true and its head explodes.  It crumples into the ground.   Fisher rushes again across the rooms to check if the east room window is boarded up as well.  Dexter tries to grab Fisher to stop him, but his hand grabs Fisher's collar and drags him back to the other room.   As the two argue, Page reminds them the others are coming!   Draper calls Control, and once more is challenged with the DARA protocols.  Identification is confirmed and mission parameters are requested.

As the others argue, another figure rushes through the doorway and fires at the group!  The shots deafeningly fill the air.  All three move instinctively, moving at the last second to feel the bullets fly across the room.  The bullet nearly strikes Draper, missing his face by inches.  Fisher rushes back to Draper while Dexter shoots at the enemy.  Another head explodes and the enemy drops a split-second after the gun clatters to the ground.   Fisher starts yanking the shelves of the filing cabinet free to smash the window open.  Page launches a few covering fire shots, calling for someone to find a way out.

"Mission Parameters are as follows:  Step one - Move to the western door to locate the hard line.   Step two - Requisition weapons as required.  They shall be sent under the bed.  Step three - Move to the southern door for the extraction point.  Take the stairwell leading outside the window.  Step four - Take the helicopter and fly to the Race Track to the position of the Hostile Personality target.  Step five - You are two engage with the Hostile Personality in a non-violent manner.  You are to abduct the Hostile Personality.  Step six - Deliver the Hostile Personality to the location known as the Factory.  Step seven - Interrogate the Hostile Personality for the whereabouts of Agent Miner and Rogue Agent Kira.   Final step - Eliminate the Hostile Personality."

Draper pulls the phone down but realizes there's strands of webbing between his cheek and the receiver.  He looks down and finds the phone completely covered with webbing.    Fisher smashes the shelf against the boarded up window and fails to shatter it open.   While Page covers the door, he asks the others where to go.  Draper tells them to the southern door an exit for the rooftop.  They notice the handguns of the enemy, however, do not seem to be made for human hands.  The spikey protrusions on them would embed into a human hand.  And worse, they seem to be made of bone.  Page suggests using the file case as cover while entering the next room.  Dexter stomps on the bone pistol, shattering it.  Five wriggling tadpoles of a sick fleshy green color squirm away from the weapon.  "I think they're here to infect us," Dexter mumbles aloud.   As they map out their plans, music begins to play from the northern door, however.  And a female voice addresses them in English.  "Perhaps we can talk, Mystery Agents?"

Fisher asks if it is Agent Kira.  The woman claims to be Kira, but when Fisher challenges her by asking for the name of the Safehouse, she diverts and asks to be allowed to safely step into view instead.  Dexter suggests she slide her weapon instead towards them. The woman emerges, kicking a glock towards them as she claims to have disarmed herself.  The stunning woman is dressed in red.  Draper addresses her, stating he's the Mission Leader.  Fisher reminds Draper to ask the woman about the Safehouse, to verify she is Kira.  Dexter and Page keep their weapons trained at her, just in case.   She claims to remember them from the parking lot, but she dodges again the question on the Safehouse they last saw each other - claiming given memory loss is so common in the Blue City, she might be referencing a Mission they do not remember.  Draper presses, demanding for the name of the Safe House.  The woman responds instead with, "The Abattoir."  Which she claims to be the place she brought them after the disastrous encounter in the Zoo.  Draper's Judge training senses the lie.  As she claims Agent Miner sent her, Draper raises the pistol in his hand and shoots her in the forehead. The group hurries to the southern door, with Page providing covering fire just in case.

There, they kick the door open and find themselves in a small interior garden with rotting plants.  Outside the window, a fire escape hangs.  Dexter asks Draper for the information Control gave, and he quickly gives them a recap as they clamber up to the ceiling.  Page wonders if they are only looking for Agent Miner.  Dexter suggests he can trick the Hostile Personality with one of his Skills to capture the guy.  As they continue up, Page provides more cover fire at the window, keeping the coated figures from following them up the ladder.  One slips out of the window, and begins to climb up with his bare hands upon the bricks.  But the group continues to the rooftop, and sees the Blue City for the first time from a high vantage point.  They see the crowded strange buildings that seem stacked against each other.  The Writers among them however realize the buildings are literally shaped as words, and they actually spell out what they are.  Hotel.  Bridge.  Race Track...  At the top, there is a man dressed in a suit with a white necktie standing in front of the helicopter.  He confirms delivery of the vehicle, then uses his own Lacuna device to leave immediately.  Dexter confirms the location of the Race Track and they quickly enter the vehicle.  Seeing there's only one contact left, Page opts to delay his ascent and fires one more time.  The shot kills the last contact chasing them.  Fisher uses his Driver training to pilot the vehicle.

They take to the sky.   The group easily flies in the direction of the Race Track.  Draper confirms the directions, being a Writer himself.  As they fly high enough from the building, they realize they are now flying above the rain.  The flight is pretty much quiet.  Agent Dexter directs them over the Bridge towards the Race Track.

Twenty minutes in the air, the group discusses the plan to meet the informant, but secretly attempt to verify if the contact is truly working for Agent Kira and not a double agent.  Agent Fisher admits that Agent Draper's information regarding the person is unverified.  The possibility that the hostile personality is in league with their contacts from the previous mission.  Agent Dexter isn't certain however if they should question Control's plans.  He offers to pretend he is the other contact, but the group isn't certain if he can handle the disguise.  Agent Page reminds them he's just good at shooting stuff.  Agent Draper reminds them that if anyone asks them for information, it would be best to claim they have forgotten.  "Memory loss.  Very common in the Blue City."  Page asks them how to eject, and Draper tells him how to do so - adding that abilities can only be used while in the Blue City.  They map out a cover story in case the contact does not know Kira, and they consider having the rest pose as guards if need be. A friendly approach.  "What is important is that they see Kira."  When Page raises the need for an exit strategy, they decide they will just have to shoot their way out.   Draper shares with them how Kira was formerly part of Control, but has been helping rogue agents free themselves from the Company.  She knows Agent Miner intimately, and has a predilection for the color red.  She likes to smoke.

They find a radio in the helicopter, and as they attempt to call Control, the DARA protocols don't seem to be in effect again.  The group unanimously opts to ditch it.  They direct the helicopter to land on a different area from the Race Track.  Page sights a good place to land the copter, a foot ball field surrounded by trees, and directs them to bring it down there.  While more distant for extractions, it does ensure no one will mess with their ride.  Dexter begins to transform into Agent Kira, using his Disguise to change.  They notice his Lacuna device does not change.  She detaches it from her clothes and hands it to Draper to hold on to it.  They notice a dog staring at them as they leave the helicopter. They begin marching across the street to the Race Track.  When park security tries interrupting them, Draper and Dexter intercepts the guy and shows them they have the proper Documents.  Page Calls Control for a hard line he easily clears all DARA protocols.  He is given the directions to find the closest secure hard lines, with three of them being within 100 meters.  Page wonders about seeing three phones in one location.  Page asks for extraction vehicles but there is delay due to static on the line.  Control informs them of 30 possible options nearby.  Page tries requisitioning for Injection Tranquilizers and they are instructed to get it at the rest room stall, West, after entry.  The group heads up into the Race Track entrance.

The group walks towards the Race Track, quickly moving through the corridors as they map out exit spots, and the restrooms for the requisitioned equipment. Page even notes how the crowds might be their best bet for cover.  The group moves towards the phone booths, and stepping inside, Draper tries using the hard line to contact Control.  Dexter squeezes in to join Draper, brushing off the small strand of cobwebs that catch on her hair.  To Draper's surprise, the operator asks him to deposit, "Two vowels."  A strange fax tone sound strikes after he offers, "A" and "E".  The operator claims Draper has successfully passed DARA protocols twice.  He slams the phone back down, realizing the hard lines are already compromised.  Fisher suggests that the head of the Race Track might be the Hostile Personality they should look out for.  The group laments there's no time to search for a new hard line. The group hurries inside.  Thunder rumbles and rain begins to fall.

The woman inside the ticket counter area smiles as they arrive.  Unlike the others in line, this woman seems to have a painted mask for a human face.  Under the eye holes, it is hard to tell what lies in the darkness.  She greets them and corrects herself for greeting them good morning.  "Kira" agrees to have her usual seat and asks to meet with the head of the Racetrack.  They even stress they are old friends with him.  The woman apologizes for being "out of sync" and tells them their reservations for the VIP section are ready. "Kira" asks if the "friend" is already in, as per Page's suggestion, and they learn he has "delayed the presentation" until they arrive.  An attempt to ask if others are there is met with a reminder that discretion is of utmost importance.

Inside, the racetrack has golden walls, strange portraits of patrons who look like melted gelatin with crab like legs.  Bright lights illuminate the whole area.  The Readers in the group inform the others that the information on the walls suggest there are winners and losers in the race.  Draper asks for a wheelchair given lady Kira is feeling "faint."  The security hurries off to the side to grab one.  Fisher does not see any sign of the real Kira's red car.  Page suggests to the split up now and slip to the restrooms.  "Kira" enters the ladies room, while Page enters the men's room.  Page finds a guy still inside, urinating.  He waits for the guy to finish.   "Kira" however finds a purse left on the sink.  Checking it, "Kira" finds sea shells inside.  A door slides open and a woman with a non-blurry face steps into view.   The woman is blonde, dressed in smart white office clothing.  Her eyes are green.  In her hand, a massive summer hat.  She tells "Kira" that the purse is hers, and the two share a conversation.  Fisher heads to the parking lot, looking around for any cards that might still have a key in the ignition.  When the security man returns with the requested wheelchair, Draper talks the security guard out of having to escort them.  Page starts to wonder what's taking the man so long to pee.  He bangs on the door to announce his presence and tells the man he needs to secure the place.  The man's blurry face gives out a sigh, and he leaves understanding the place is VIP only.  With him out, Page checks each of the stalls for any sign of the requisitioned package.  He finds a suitcase behind the third stall.  The case is sealed with a combination lock.  Page inspects the rest of the restroom and finds a stash on one side.  Scattering out of it are cigarettes and a lighter.

"Kira" learns the woman is known as Fraulein and in an attempt to misdirect her focus, she claims to be feeling unwell.  Fraulein offers her some "Bliss," an offer which the Mystery Agent does not quite grasp.  Fraulein tells "Kira" she suspects it has been far too long since she visited the games.  The woman digs out a small cube, the offered Bliss, but "Kira" turns it down.  The woman places it on her tongue and smiles as she walks out.  "Kira" suggests Fraulein walk with her to the games, but when she asks Kira who the current host is, she once more acts as if she is feeling ill.  "Kira" warns Draper that the woman might be the one they are looking for.  Fisher finds two cars with keys still possibly in reach.  Fisher gives his companions a meaningful glance to signal to them he has the vehicles.  Using his gun, he shoots the window open to grab attention.  He starts the engine and brings the car to the others.

When Fraulein reacts nervously to the incoming car, Draper claims they have heard of the presence of possible Mystery Agents and is now recommending they all head to a safer place.  Page steps close to block Fraulein from running off.  Draper reassures her that the incoming car is one of their agents, and the group makes their way to the side of the road as quickly as possible.  Racetrack security seems confused.  As the car is close enough, Page nudges Fraulein to get into the car.  Page hurries back to help "Kira" into the car as well.  Draper slides in beside Fraulein, staying between her and the door.  Page, seeing one of the security guards arrive at the area, yells out a warning.  With the suitcase in his hands, he rushes back to the car.  Fraulein starts asking worriedly if the Mystery Agents are around, and what will happen to Jigsaw who is still inside the Racetrack.  With her exclamations, the Bliss falls out of her mouth and tumbles to the floor of the car.  Draper lies about needing to "save" Jigsaw as well and asks if Fraulein would like to help convince him to go with them.  To their surprise, they see her hold a hand up to her head, as if she were Calling the man named Jigsaw!  She tells him they are under attack, and tells him to come out, as they have a "way out".  Security is coming in droves.  Fisher flashes the Documents and tells the Security to spread out near the entrance of the Racetrack, instead of where they were, due to the threat of Mystery Agents.  "Kira" yells at the Security to escort Jigsaw out now and the guards easily fall for it.  Draper asks Fraulein to hurry, but this makes her look at him slightly suspiciously. Fisher claims that there are ten Agents in the vicinity.  Fraulein however blurts about her frustration with the Company, stating they are probably acting more desperate now that more of them have gone rogue.

As the group anticipates the coming of Jigsaw, Agent Page suddenly receives a Call.  The caller turns out to be Kira and she warns them that they are playing a dangerous game. She warns him that Fraulein used to be a Mystery Agent and that she was trained to be a Judge and a Caller.  A single guy emerges, accompanied by the Security Guards. They hurry to the car.  Fraulein calls out to the group and tells them that Kira is with them.  But all can feel acutely that something is wrong with the situation.    "Kira" stresses they have to go and there's no time to waste.  Page, realizing the threat Fraulein may pose, hits her from behind to try and knock her out.  She drops down unconscious.  Page quickly warns the group that Kira is contacting her mentally and that Fraulein has the ability to discern lies.  He admits, however, that he is not sure if the Kira contacting him is the same Kira they know.  Fisher revs the engine and seeing Page's actions, decides its too dangerous to wait.  As they drive off, the Security guards spread out to reveal Jigsaw dressed as a Mystery Agent - full black suit, and shades.  Instead of a necktie, however, his tie instead looks like a wine bottle.  For some of the agents, the encounter registers as if it was the first time.  Panic hits as they see Jigsaw's detached segments of his face.  An organic rubik's cube of a face.  He motions for the car to wait!

The Agents all tell Fisher to keep going, but he hears Draper, the team leader, insist they best stop.  He stops the car.  Page stays focused on Fraulein.  Jigsaw arrives beside the car and asks them if they're heading out.  Fisher admits they do.  Jigsaw, however, warns them that they cannot take the roads. "It is not safe." Jigsaw slams his hand on the hood and asks Fisher directly, "Can you drive?"  To the group's surprise, the car they in begins to shake and rattle and change.  Within seconds, the car has transmogrified into a helicopter!  Jigsaw commands the security guards to hurry off to search the grounds.  He sees Fraulein unconscious and asks if the agents got to her first.  Page lies that they were able to pull her out in time.  Jigsaw's face shuffles and changes in response as he tells Fisher to fly them out of the place.  "Why does trouble always happen when you come to visit me," Jigsaw sneers at "Kira."  The real Kira Calls Agent Page once more, and this time she reminds him that if he makes one mistake, Jigsaw will know.

Airborne, the group leaves the vicinity of the Racetrack.  Jigsaw's face shifts a few times as he glances at Draper, wondering aloud if he knows him.  Fisher begins to direct the helicopter towards an abandoned location where the least people would be: the Country, the Factory, or the Observatory.  While the rural area is unexplored, it may hide unexpected dangers.  Fisher asks Jigsaw where to go. Jigsaw tells Fisher to follow his gut instincts instead and the group flies towards the Observatory.  The trip takes them away from the rain.  Jigsaw asks Kira to explain what is going on, and Dexter claims he suspects the Mystery Agents are trying to capture him.  Jigsaw asks her about the report he received that one of the Mystery Agents shot her in the face.  "Funny to see you back so soon," Jigsaw smirks.   Dexter tries to suggest the idea the report he received was most likely wrong.  The others remain tense, but stay in the role of bodyguards.  Suddenly, a power outage strikes the Blue City.  Everything goes dark.  Jigsaw smiles, suggesting that one of the assistants of Kira was Covering for her and was the one who got shot.  He asks what happened to Fraulein, and Dexter admits he asked her to wait but something seems to have happened to her.  Jigsaw asks if she trusts the pilot, and Dexter admits he needs him.  Jigsaw tells them they will head to Deep Blue instead.  He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Lacuna device.  It looks like it had been jury-rigged however. He activates it and a Lacuna opens in mid-air.  "Head for the hole!"  Fisher throws Draper a glance, checking if the team leader would approve of the action.  Draper gives an almost imperceptible nod.   Jigsaw, however, catches the glance. They fly into the black, feeling the cold rush of wetness that splashes over them.

Sounds begin to surround them.  Insectile organic clicking and hissing.   The Mystery Agents look around and realize they are no longer in the helicopter.  Lights flare and darkness swirls around them.  Dexter realizes in horror his Disguise is gone.  The group realizes Jigsaw is no longer seated among them.  He is standing a few feet away, his back turned towards them as they sit in what seem to be standing chairs.  There seem to be silhouettes of something humanoid around them, but the figure pulls into the darkness before they can focus on them.  Jigsaw addresses Draper, telling him he clearly has identified the man as the leader.  He holds up a wine glass and muses about the Company sending "ten" Mystery Agents to hunt him down.  Draper admits Jigsaw has the honor of having been considered as infamous as Agent Miner or Kira.  Jigsaw asks if they came here as "allies."  Draper admits they did, as they have made contact with Agent Miner and Kira and believe the Company is no longer to be trusted.  Page keeps Fraulein close, wondering why she'd remain unconscious.  Dexter claims they are hoping to understand more with Jigsaw's help.  Fisher even asks if Jigsaw can give them information.  Jigsaw asks Page why Fraulein is with them.  Draper mumbles about her being an unexpected element in this whole fiasco.  Draper admits for some, it is their first time in the Blue City and so they had to orchestrate and improvise things to contact him and avoid the Company's surveillance.  Jigsaw suggests there are many truths: the Company, the Personalities, even they have their own truths.  Fisher asks if the Company can be trusted.  Jigsaw admits he needs proof before he'd tell them more.   He questions if they can all trust each other, and tells them he will ask one question from each of them.  He requires them all to surrender their Lacuna devices.  They had him Fraulein.  From the shadows, Spider-Men emerge and take her away.

Draper asks where they can find Agent Miner or Agent Kira. Jigsaw admits he can't answer that since he is not on their side.  He does not know their whereabouts.  Draper insists they are on their own side.  Fisher counter offers to owe him a favor in the future, especially since he cannot be assured Jigsaw is answering their questions honestly.  Jigsaw counters that they give him a name they trust instead.    Someone he can "Call."  Fisher gives his own name, "Agent Fisher."  Jigsaw accepts it and hears Fisher's question on what Jigsaw truly plans to do given he does not work with the Company, nor Miner and Kira. Jigsaw admits he wants to burn it all down, and to stop the Bliss from flowing.  "Aren't you tired of sleeping?"  He even raises an interesting thought: that if they are all lying on the slab, why doesn't someone from the Company just pull his own plug.  Agent Page hears Kira calling him a third time, informing him she can sense he is in Deep Blue.  She offers to pull them all out with an Emergency Extraction.  Jigsaw, oblivious to Page talking to Kira, asks for a Lacuna device to answer Fisher's question. Knowing he can't reply to Kira without verbalizing things, Page quickly wonders how to give the answer.  Dexter asks how to earn his loyalty, and Jigsaw plainly say they just need to get rid of the ones who don't have it.  That would be a clear demonstration of their loyalty.  Page realizes that's the best time to speak and he says, "Yes."  Kira activates the Emergency Extraction.

Draper realizes the Reciprocity he has is not enough to support everyone.  He decides to help everyone else by focusing it all on them.  Draper gets left behind as the Lacuna holes yawn open beneath the other Mystery Agents.  Fisher reminds Jigsaw he can always call them, and he vanishes as Kira yanks him out.  Dexter is also yanked out.  Page flicks his own device on, following Kira's  instructions and he vanishes as well.  Draper is now alone with Jigsaw.  He pulls Draper close and begins to tell him about a world built upon the dreams of a billion sleepers  He learns why the Company was formed.  He learns that Jigsaw wants to destroy the Blue City and the Company, because he sincerely believes it will wake everyone up.

Back at Reception.  The Receptionist smiles as she looks at the three Mystery Agents.  Page, Dexter and Fisher have vague memories of what had happened.  There is no sign of Agent Draper.  She tells them the Company is very happy with the results of the mission and even congratulates Agent Fisher for being the Team Leader.  He chooses to just nod as if that were true.  Agent Dexter is commended for his bravery and that there is plans to promote him unless he works for Mythography instead.  Agent Page is told the Company is astounded  with his success.  He is told their group of three successfully terminated the rogue agent Draper, a.k.a. Jigsaw.  His body was found in the slab and terminated as per Company guidelines.  She asks if they would like to share their experiences of the mission.  Each are allowed to give up to three sentences to describe their mission.  All three start claiming to have memory loss of the mission.  Reception even hints that they are all being considered for Senior positions had they been able to remember enough to report.  She tells them that Vice Director Weller will be in touch with them soon.  Even Agent Collier commends Page for his actions in Deep Blue and is given the offer to handle nothing but solo mission from this point on, given his exceptional navigation of Deep Blue architecture.  The promotion is to Black clearance.  Page admits he doesn't really know for certain what he had accomplished.

A knock on the door.  A man steps inside, wearing a full suit and tie.  They recognize him as Senior Instructor Snyder.  He charmingly addresses them all.  He tells them that the Company is very happy with their performance, and so forth.  But beneath the verbal words, they all begin to hear Snyder address them telepathically that the corruption within the group.  He tells them secretly that the loss of Draper, while unfortunate, is not irreversible as they still have his body on the slab. Fisher asks if its possible Draper is still alive.  Snyder tells them they are all to be on R&R, talking about the coming operations, but in truth his telepathic words tells them that Draper might still be investigating Jigsaw.

Somewhere else.
Draper stands in the shadows.  In the dark room, the woman in red is in front of him.  She is still shifting her face into a human disguise to become Kira's face.  Kira turns to Draper and tells him the others are arriving.  Draper sees the others present and they all nod.  Kira lights a cigarette.  Draper knocks down something to the ground and the metal thing clatters to the ground.  "They should be there now," she tells him, "Let them know we are coming. Let them feel the terror build."  The light is flashed at the door way once, twice.. thrice.  Then the door is being kicked open.

Draper hears in his head a voice, asking if his Cover is holding.  If they do not realize he is not really a spider.  He confirms it is holding.  The voice tells him hopefully he will learn to Call back.  But for now, to know that they are nearby.  "And remember, if you ever see me in public, I am Jigsaw.  This is Agent Miner, signing off."

Recruitment #13 : Lacuna

01/31/2015
Recruitment #13
Lacuna, Part I. The Birth of Mystery and the Girl from Blue City

With the recent incursions the Company has had, new protocols has been set up to secure all new applicants.  Reception reminds the applicants there is no such thing as Wine level clearance and are reminded that the Dara Protocols are in place.  Sadly, they are not given information on what these are given their clearance levels.

Agent Draper, 30 years old and male, was trained by Senior Agent Snyder.  He has learned Meditation and is a Writer and a Doctor.

Agent Singer, 25 years old and male, was trained by Agent Duke.  He has learned Endurance and is a Caller and Armed with a Submachine gun.

Agent Fisher, 29 years old and male, was also trained by Agent Duke.  He has learned Endurance and is a Driver and is aware of a Safehouse (the Garden) as well as has a Contact in the Blue City (Agent Mason).  He is assigned the role of Team Leader.  He has access to Reciprocity as well, but has no recollection what is supposedly can do.

The three are inserted into the Blue City and sadly, due to existing Static, the Team Leader upon arrival in the Blue City should attempt to contact Control immediately.  Security reasons require such information to be gained while within the Blue City.  Memory loss is common in the Blue City.  Agent Singer considers having "challenges" among agents to recognize each other given the possibility of counter agents and the use of Cover, as well as the abuse of certain skills by Rogue Agents.  Fisher asks if it is possible to use a terminal to see what Reciprocity means.  Reception checks if Control has given him clearance for it, but sadly is informed that it cannot be clarified while in Reception.  When Fisher asks the Receptionist for her name, she simply states she is the Receptionist and her clearance level is Green.  Agent Draper tries asking if there are any organizations directly opposing the Company.  Reception explains there are no actual organizations directly opposing the Company, contrary to rumors they may have heard.  She wishes them all the best and they prepare for Insertion.

They sit comfortably, place their hands on their laps, and close their eyes.

*

In the Blue City, and the first to open his eyes is Agent Fisher, who finds himself in a dark room.  There is a window where blue light filters in.  He is alone in his suit with the Lacuna device.  There are two doors, one in front of him and one behind him.   He picks up the device and pins it onto his shirt.

Agent Draper opens his eyes to find himself in a dark parking lot.  The left building is taller than the right.  Both look old and dilapidated. A billboard above stands, but is not illuminated.  He too is in his suit and wears the Lacuna device on his shirt.  He hopes the others are fine.

Agent Singer opens his eyes to find himself in a crowded office.  There are desks and chairs all around.  There is not much light to see.  There was a chime, a soft sound somewhere nearby.  He finds the Lacuna device and tries to wear it.  One side shows overturned tables and filing cabinets.  He Calls Control.  Control asks him to identify himself and after clearing that, Singer requests for Intel on where the others are.  But Control seems to be having trouble locating the others.  "They should be within the block radius.  The team seems to be suffering from Static.  Did you notice a lot of blue?"

The chime.  It sounded louder for Agent Draper.  He starts fumbling in the dark looking for where the sound came from.  He starts looking around the dark room for where it may be.  He finds a device on the floor. A phone or a camera?  He feels like he owned it as some time in his life.  It is plugged to a socket on the base of a street light.

Fisher goes to the window, and peers down to see a parking lot.  There is a man in a suit who is looking around and searching the ground.  Fisher tries calling out to Agent Singer in his head, but nothing happens.  He never was trained to be a Caller.  He goes to the front door and listens in or tries to smell anything that might be there.  He finds movement.  The smell is of old books and dust and rotten wood.  He then checks the back door and hears dripping water. The smell is of heavy and thick.  He returns to the front door and opens it slightly to peer who might be there.

Singer hears footfalls.  He turns to the sound and draws his weapon, ready for a possible hostile.  He sees the door, approaches it, but as it opens before he gets there!  He readies the gun and asks, "Doctor?"

The head peering from the other side replies, "Who?"   Singer and Fisher identifies each other.  Happy to have reunited, Fisher insists they try to find the last guy.  He mentions the man in the parking lot below who might be Draper, but he's not sure.  Fisher tries to recall where the Safe House would be.  He remembers the Garden.  He recalls the thorn bush which will hurt those who want through it, but the pain should strip away any disguises.  They will have a secure Hard Line inside.  Fisher tells Singer about it.  Singer insists they should get out of the room.  Fisher tries to recall who his Contact is, and he realizes the name of the Contact is Agent Mason. He stays at the Bridge.  Or at the Bar.  Fisher knows Mason can be trusted.  Singer asks about the man Fisher saw in the parking lot and they decide to check him out.  Especially since a vehicle would be a great thing to have in the Mission.

Draper hears the device suddenly give out a ringing noise, then die out.  It's.. a mobile device?  He also finds a box.  Moving to the light, he holds the box there and sees the message upon it:

Do not trust the Cat.

Inside, he finds three more Lacuna devices.  He pockets them, not sure where it came from.  He decides to carry the box with him.  He does not know where the two other agents are.  The cars around the parking lot are filled with spider webs.  Draper does not recall noticing that before.

Fisher and Singer brushes away spiderwebs that catch their faces as they move in the dark room.  In the office, they see the stacks of tables and chairs which may be blocking another door.  Based on the orientation, Fisher considers the stack on where it would be in reference to the parking lot.  The stack seems to be a further route.  They consider checking the other room, but then hear a car coming up.  Peering out the nearest window, Singer laments the billboard is blocking his view.  They quietly rush back to the other room.  Fisher tests the other door and finds it locked.  Singer tries to break door the door with Force, ramming it open with his shoulder.  The door groans, then the wood breaks.  He tumbles inside and nearly slips on the wet floor.  The room is a bathroom.  Tiled floor and walls, feels almost prison-like with its tiny windows.  The bathrub has overflowed and water has spilled onto the floor.  There is a body inside the tub.  Nearly slipping, Singer regains his balance in the last second.

Fisher thought he heard skittering somewhere from the other room.  Singer leans forward with a gun pointing and notices there is no smell of rot.   He submerges his other arm into the water to lift the body out.  Fisher looks out the window for a way down and finds a fire escape; an old metal thing that would probably groan against their weight.  Light flashes and Fisher realizes it seems to be coming from the office.  He closes the bathroom door quietly, and starts sliding out of the widow onto the fire escape.

Singer realizes the water is warm and thick.  It might not be water.  He pulls the body out and water splashes out onto the floor. The face had been bashed in so many times he cannot make out any features.  The body, however, is male.  The clothes suggest a Mystery Agent's apparel.

At the parking lot, a car drives into the area.  Draper ducks behind a car as it arrives, its headlights streaking across the area.  It is a bright red car and it comes to a stop and its driver steps down.  Draper is around sixty feet away.  When the door swings open, he suddenly smells orchids. Staying hidden, he looks at the device in his hand and sees messages coming in.  He is not sure if he can trust them.  He looks for a better vantage point to observe the woman from the car without revealing himself.  The woman in red lights a cigarette and surveys the location.  Draper's foot gets caught on something and he falls.  She turns to the sound, "Who's there? Is someone there?"  Draper opts to stay silent.

"Fisher, is that you?" she asks.

"Maybe," Draper replies, "Who are you?"  Draper sees her maneuvering to keep the red car between her and his voice.  "If you are Agent Fisher, then you should be able to answer this challenge:  What is your job?"

Draper trusts his gut feelings and answers, "Whatever needs to be done."

Singer tells Fisher the body is a dead agent and that they best have to get out.  Singer plants the body across the room to place it against the door.  Whoever is in the other room is about to make its way to them.  Fisher sees the woman in red, smoking and talking to someone he cannot see.  Did he hear his own name?  Singer has the body pinned to the door and moves to join Fisher at the window.

The woman in red accepts the answer and tells Draper, whom he thinks is Fisher, that she is happy he is safe.  Seeing him, she wonders if he's in Cover, given he looks like someone else, and tells him to get into the car.  "I was waiting for your return."

Draper asks who she is, and the question makes her worry until he admits, "Its the Blue City.  Memory loss is..."  She agrees, "Memory loss is common in the Blue City."

Fisher and Singer use parkour to descend down the fire exit as quietly and quickly as they can, scaling the metal to reach the ground level.  Singer lets Fisher go down first, and he covers him if necessary.  Fisher quickly follows to do the same.

"We don't have time to waste," the woman in red explains, "Its me." She opens her red jacket to reveal a shock of yellow color beneath. "It's Kira.  Get in the car, we have to leave."

Seeing the two getting back into the car, Singer tries to Call Draper.  But Fisher ends up yelling aloud, "Doctor!"

Draper turns to the voice and replies, "Who!"

Kira turns to the voice and realizes Fisher at the distance.  She looks at Draper, and realizes he is someone else.  Singer comes into view with a gun tells her to keep her hands up.  She tells them there's no time, that they have to go to the Garden, and that Hostile Personalities are close by.  Fisher tells them trust him and to get in the car.  Singer asks why she knows about the Safe house, but Fisher tells them to just trust him.

Shots are fired from above as the Hostile Personalities open fire.  Fisher rushes inside with Draper.  Singer sits on the passenger seat and trains the gun at Kira.  "Drive! Drive!" Singer gasps as Kira roars the engine and drives off.  The bullets do not find their mark.

As the car tears down the road, Singer asks Fisher why they are trusting Kira given they were told in Reception that Kira is one of the rogue agents. Fisher asks Kira how she knows about the Safe House and she tells him that was where they last talked before he Ejected.  He admits his memories are once again faded because of the Blue City.  "God damned memory loss... makes everything harder."

Kira seems amused that the Company is now referring to her as a rogue agent.  Draper, seated behind Kira, stays focused on her in case she tries anything.  Singer thinks about Calling Control to inform them they have the rogue agent in custody, but Fisher suggests they go to the safe house for now.  Kira dares him to try it.  She hisses about them not trusting her, especially Fisher given she helped him get out before, and falsified the reports to grant him the Commendation he needed to get back in.  Fisher realizes that did happen during Reception.

Singer realizes the dead body of a Mystery Agent in the bathtub might have been one of the agents with Fisher when Kira helped him.  Singer lifts his hand to show her the bluish buzzing at his palm, "What is this?"   She stops the car, and yells at them all to get out.  "I'm not driving around with them.  These assholes are carrying Static with them!"

"I'm not going anywhere without them," Fisher insists.   "We're trusting you, so you better trust us." He apologizes but they are all doing what they need to stay safe.  "Let's just discuss things better once we are all in the Safehouse."

"For all I know, you're going to go sing all the way to Control," Kira snaps at Singer, "Let me guess, you're a Caller?"  Singer snaps back, "But I'm the one with a gun."

Fisher tries to impress to them all that they have to trust each other and make their way to the Safe House, and she admits, "Only because Mason trusts you."  Fisher tells them that Mason is his Contact in the Blue City.  Singer puts down the gun and tries to get some rest while in the car.

The ride is a quiet one.  They all find a moment to rest a bit for the remainder of the ride.  Singer keeps looking back, still tense, during the ride.

Kira shares what happened in the last mission.   Four agents with Fisher as the team leader.  They were looking for the scarlet woman and learns she had been infiltrated and replaced by Jigsaw.  They lost three of the men and Fisher only realized too late the fourth was working for Jigsaw.  He revealed he worked for the enemy when he revealed the Cat mask he has.  Draper shows them the box he found with the warning about not trusting the cat.  "Damn it Fisher," Singer hisses.

Fisher admits he thinks he was sent back to eliminate Kira.  He tells Kira he trusts the two other agents.  She asks Singer about his background, and he shares they were both trained by Agent Duke.  Singer admits he was trained especially to handle small arms.

Draper asks Kira if she would happen to know a certain number.  He shows the number on the mobile device.  She doesn't admit she recognizes the number, even if it actually is Mason's.  They ask why she is branded as a rogue agent if she's helping them, and Singer suggests maybe it is to act as a double-Cover.  Fisher muses that someone in the Company might be a double agent as well.  "Either the Company itself is bad, or someone high enough in the Company is manipulating it."

Singer realizes Kira was Calling someone too during her moment of silence.  "Who are you talking to?"

Kira smiles, "Nice to see you noticed."  Then she glances at Draper through the rear view mirror. "I guess he told you. You don't recall meeting Mason in the past, do you?"  Draper admits he doesn't.  He suggests they play this out to see where it goes.

Fisher admits the Company considers both Kira and Miner as rogue agents.  She explains its because they've realized the Company is lying to them, about who they are, and what they are doing.  Draper though maintains communications with the mystery messenger sending him messages through the mobile device.

Draper asks if Kira is a Writer, and she admits she's been in the Blue City for so long she has learned a lot of techniques.  Before she can say more, however, a truck suddenly slams into the car and forces it off the road!  The group braces themselves as the car spins out of control.  The car slams into an alleyway and the truck continues down the road.  The agents quickly disengages from the vehicle and hurry into the street.  She rushes down the road and tells them to regroup in the Garden.  She rushes into the nearest building, dropping her red jacket as she slips inside.  The others hurry out and opt to head in the same direction, rushing into the same building.  The three step inside to see its is a posh looking restaurant and some sort of a dinner is going on.  Everyone is dressed in posh clothing with suits, elaborate gowns and masks.  Animal masks.  Draper notices at least five people in cat masks.   A woman in a rabbit mask stands at the entrance with a list of names looks at them and smiled, asking if she can be of any help.  There are numerous animal masks on the table.  Fisher whispers to Draper to pick up a mask they can wear.  Thinking of blending in, Draper reads the names out loud as they plan to be guests for the dinner.  The names are vaguely familiar:  P. Garces, J. Allosado, J. Roxas.  Singer claims to be J. Allosado and picks up the Elephant mask.  He hands the J. Roxas mask to Fisher, an orangutan.  Draper gets the P. Garces mask, a great white shark.  "Enjoy the hunt," the rabbit girl tells them. Singer jokes if this comes with a rifle.

They approach the tables and realize the "animals" at the tables are of similar types: sharks in one, great cats in another, and so forth.  The three start to worry what this hunt is supposed to be about.  A woman with a narrow face (an ostrich) watches them as they pass, and then pulls out a pair of spectacles to look at them.  Singer greets her good day.  Fisher joins the table with the great apes.  They talk about how the lions have been winning the hunt and how they hope to win this time.  At the corner of Draper's eye, he catches Kira slipping into the kitchen.  The Elephant mask joins the other pachyderms.  A woman with a wholly mammoth mask admits she's surprised they all appeared at the same time.  Singer claims they were friends and took the same ride.  She laments how she doesn't like them "mingling."  Singer tries to respond, "Don't worry, an elephant never forgets." But she retorts, "You do."  Draper joins the other sharks.  A door slams open and two men enter the room in cold war Russian military garb.  The two, however, do not recognize the Mystery Agents.  Then they carefully back away.

Fisher realizes something is up and makes a public display of needing to go to the bathroom.  The other monkeys are a bit bothered that he wants to go. "I guess my bladder is kind of-" The other monkey however questions his urge to go given "My bladder is quite well done."  Singer tries to excuse himself to smoke, but the others all draw out their own cigars after statements on Global Warming and the like.  Draper realizes at his table the other sharks aren't really wearing masks.  The hammerhead mask's eyes blink.  "Who do you think it is," the tiger shark asks Draper, "Could you be the one?  You can never know which one at each table is the one wearing a mask... I can't wait for the hunt. Its been so long since I've had flesh."  He hurriedly makes his way to the bathroom, giving some excuse about coming down with a cold.

At the restroom, the three meet up to discuss where Kira had gone but to their surprise, there are three people inside who gasp in fear.  The three ask if they are... and the three huddle to one corner.  They talk about how the hunt will begin and they can't run.  That the moment any of them run, the hunt will charge.  Singer tries to have the waiter serve some drinks to his table, but the waiter admits drinks are not until after the hunt.    The people are terrified, talking about how the hunt happens every week.  Fisher tries to find a way out via the bathroom.  Singer considers running out of the windows but one of the people tells them that the hunt begins the moment people run out.  Singer ties a handkerchief over his face and offers his mask to another to swap with them.  They ask why they are here and Draper tells them they are here to stop the game.  They are not sure how to help the people.

Agent Fisher.  Can you hear me?  This is Kira.

She chides them for stepping inside and realizes they don't recall the location.  She states she was able to safely come in because she used Cover.

You are in the Zoo.  You can't get out.  I'll have to find a different way.  Buy time.

Heavy knocking begins to slam on the door, and the waiter is asking if everything is alright inside.  The people are pleading that the three help them, but when one mutters, "Oh what's the point, its not as if you are Mystery Agents or anything," Singer homes in on the statement and asks him to explain.  Fisher tells them they need to buy Kira time.  Singer calls out claiming he is having trouble with his make-up.  Fisher asks the three others to explain more what they can about the hunt and how they can help.  They admit all they know is that when they make the mistake of stepping in here, there is no going out.  When asked of any recollection of what happened the last time, they admit they died.

Singer realizes the lions are probably the most vicious given their reputation.  But all the other tables have at least one predator.   Or worse, the six of them are the non-animals.  Knowing the hunt begins once they run, they consider returning to their seats while asking casual.  Another knock and they are told to step out.  Draper reminds everyone to stay calm and never run.  Fisher wets his hands and steps out.

As they step out, they nervously look around for possible ways out.  Fisher hopes to make his way to the kitchen, but then the music stops and everyone else stands and starts applauding as they emerge from the restroom.  Many are starting to lick their lips, if they had them.  Other are starting to gnaw unconsciously, baring their sharp teeth.  The waiter tells them to all stay where they are.  Fisher whispers hurriedly to the others to find a way to the kitchen while he buys them time.  Fisher grabs a goblet of wine and starts giving a talk to distract all those present with his rambling speech.

Singer Calls Control, whispering to it to ask about the Zoo.  Control states that records show the Mystery Agents have been in the Blue City for over two hours and they have not asked for intel.  Singer explains the team leader is distracting the hostile personalities while Fisher explains where they are.  Control is horrified that they are near the outskirts and he explains they were chased down by a truck.    "Thats why I am calling you now, for help."

The speech captivates the animals, distracting them as Singer and Draper consider their options.  As Draper nears the door to the kitchen, he notices the Hammerhead staring at him.  He realizes going into the kitchen might be considered running.  He opts to stay in place.

Singer reports the three dead agents and tries to tell them to Eject.  "You are not supposed to be there!  You are not supposed to-" but Static takes over the line.  Fisher glances at the two and sees Draper has not stepped to the kitchen.  He has not gathered the weapons.  Singer successfully convinces all of the hunters to close their eyes and after twenty-minutes to open it.  Draper glances at the ceullar and realizes the message there is suggesting something.  He walks towards the crowd and hears Fisher mumble to the rest to head to the kitchen.  The three break into a quick walk to the kitchen and as the door is shoved open, the animals count down.

The kitchen is filled with stacks of meat.  Singer grabs a leg to jam the door.  Draper realizes the leg is human, not an animal leg. Fisher grabs a pair of knives.  The message Draper receives is "Kiss a Frog and Make a Wish"

"We're supposed to Eject," Draper tells the others.  Singer and Draper hit their Lacuna devices to Eject.  Fisher sees the black pits where the two earlier stood.  The door slams open.

Singer hits the Lacuna device.

He sees the sharp teeth and fangs closing in.

Reception.

The three look around and see each other.  They are all seated at the table, lethargic but alive. The Receptionist is calmly waiting.  Singer mutters it was an interesting trip.  Fisher apologizes that they got into trouble and had to run away.  He asks what they saw in the report and she tells them they are welcomed as new Applicants as Mystery Agents.  Singer mutters he's confused given he thought they already were Mystery Agents.  Receptionist apologizes and reports to Control that one of them recalls already being a Mystery Agent.  Draper admits he too recalls Reception telling them they were Agents.  Singer mutters, "It must be a Blue City thing" but this makes Reception more curious.  Fisher starts stressing they are just confused and are wondering when they will actually begin Insertion.  They are all worried they may have said more than they should have.

Door opens.
An older man steps inside.  His tie is white.  He walks up to the three.  Draper recognizes Senior Agent Snyder.  He tells them Reception informed him of a problem.  He asks Agent Number Two if he recalls anything strange.  Singer claims he does not recall anything.  Draper is confused as to why they have not dived yet.  He asks Agent Draper to guide Agent Number Three through the Reception process.  Snyder asks Singer to accompany him to the door.

"Something feels fishy, I don't think we were supposed to remember anything," Draper whispers to Fisher.  He agrees.   They start to wonder if Clearance level Green is not actually just a clearance category, but a level of access to the Blue City.  Have they been in the Blue City all this time?

Outside the room, Snyder leads Singer outside of the corridor.  Singer asks where they are going, but before his question can be completed, Snyder shoots Singer on the chest.  He tells Reception, "Clean this up" then tightening his tie he uses Cover to become Reception and steps back into the room.

The Receptionist in the corridor walks up to Singer's body, places a Lacuna device onto him and activates it.  The body vanishes.  "Control, one body on the way.  He was remembering things.  Soon enough, we will uproot all of the rogue elements."
