Now Live on Kickstarter: John Silence

John Silence

The John Silence universe is about black, indigenous, and/or people of color (BIPOC) psychic detectives. It is set in the United States at some time between 1938 and 1998. TV shows like The Dead Zone and Heartless fit the tone of this game, but we want a more diverse cast of characters.

A complete rpg plus a shared-universe story/poetry anthology about psychic people of color saving the Earth from invisible monsters

Doll and Advanced Doll now available in Italian!

Just got word that Dreamlord Press has released Italian translations of Josh Jordan's Doll as well as Advanced Doll, the expansion I wrote up for it!  Whooo hoooo!   First saw the post here.

(Pardon the rough translation that follows.  This was a Google Translated version of the article in their website)

From Dreamlord Press

From today, available on our website!

Doll
Thanks to a team of passionate, here's the Italian version of doll, game of narration of Josh T. Jordan.
After appearing in our catalogue shared with narrattiva and coyote press like game tribute in his basic version, we put it to the full version, epub and PDF format.
Doll - Doll is a game of narration for two. A player plays a child which has just died the pet. The other player's impersonating the doll, the puppet or another game of the child. The doll knows everything, but not always tells the truth. During the game, the child will try to find out the truth about their parents: will they be good or bad?
Advanced Doll is a supplement for Doll. This supplement adds rules for additional players, further events for guiidare your story through another 20 minutes of play, and many additional rules how the co-Author, Tobie Abad, managed to squeeze in.

Advanced Doll was one of the first things I ever tried writing in any formal or professional level for the role-playing and storygaming community.  I'm very happy to see it still getting some attention.  Thank you so much!

October Update and Gumshoe!

Just a quick update on how happy I am so far.

First, Rocky and I finally got our chance to enjoy Pelgrane Press' Night's Black Agents with three other friends last night.  Boy was that game an impressive experience.   I've yet to write up the episode summary of that game, but it was a hoot playing the Gumshoe system and I think we were able to approach the system far more correctly than my first attempt when I played the system with two other players.

Secondly, helped proofread another book which adds to the list of products which have my name in Drive Thru Rpg.  Check out, New Identities: Witness Protection Program from Vas Quas Editrice.

Thirdly, send in my work for Josh Jordan's Advanced Doll, the stretch goal expansion for his wonderful Doll story role-playing game.   I'm absolutely floored at how much support the project received, and even more exciting is how Josh himself might help me release my own projects under his line as Kickstarter projects in the future!

Fourth, the playtesting for A Single Moment has been happening and so far, there have been positive responses.  Of the actual written document, many good friends have thrown in their two cents, including the amazingly prolific Eloy Lasanta, of API and Part-Time Gods and Josh Jordan himself.  It still amazes me that I'm in touch and my name is actually recalled by luminaries such as John Wick and others.

Fifth, enjoying the beta teaser of A World of Dew, the upcoming expansion of John Wick's Blood & Honor game which brings the setting forward to a world where the Clan is not the biggest force to reckon with, the gaijin gain some share of the spotlight, and Cities now loom into view.   The very kind Ben Woerner has allowed me to gain access to the document, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be getting a peek at it.

So yeah, life is good.
:-)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thank you so much for supporting Josh Jordan's Kickstarter for DOLL!  All 217 (cause I'm the 218th) backers should know they have my love for supporting this project and funding it.  I'm anxious to see the release of Advanced Doll and the fiction which we're writing for the expanded goals.

But yes!  Another step forward in sharing  more of my work to the gaming community!
Thank you again!

Featured: Josh Jordan's interview on BS! Radio

Josh Jordan, awesome creator of Heroine and Doll gets interviewed and even more awesome has John Wick as the special guest interviewer.    Yes, Josh, I am ABSOLUTELY envious.  In so many ways!
"You made a damn fine game."  Now that is a true compliment.  You really did.

Check it out here:

Come on and support the Kickstarter! It is not too late!

And on a personal level, I must say..

At the 21:40 mark. Oh my god. I was mentioned.   I guess Josh really liked the Girl Elsewhere contribution I wrote.  Admittedly I still am in disbelief over that.  Hoooomaygawd.

And

Josh Jordan just gave a shout out to John Wick from me.
And John Wick just replied, "I'm sorry you're not here, Tobie."

Me <-- fanboying much.
Absolutely.

Doll is more than alive!

It is getting awesomely epic.

We've just hit the $900+ mark and there are still 19 days to go.
The $750 stretch goal was that I write Advanced Doll, the advanced rules options for Josh Jordan's Doll game.   I was pretty psyched because this meant I was finally getting one dream fulfilled (getting a game published with my name as the byline) and though this is just a four-page supplement, it was a good step forward from simply contributing a chapter to a supplement.

Once again I am reminded to stop worrying about how others will or won't like my work and to just write it and get it out there.

Man.  This is it.
Advanced Doll, I better get the first complete draft to Jordan asap.   The pages I've written so far haven't been sent to him for the initial read through, but that's cause I'm still adding even more stuff to them.

Funny how four pages doesn't seem as much as you'd think.
If you guys out there wanna check it out, or even better, support it, head on here.
